Teodora Centre for the Disabled was established in 2007, (as a non-profitable company) to function as a workshop for individuals that are disabled (but we prefer the term differently abled), who can not function in the mainstream and have no opportunity of obtaining work (or a life) outside their homes.
Our main purpose is to create a safe and enjoyable environment where individuals can feel at ease among their fellow differently abled friends and develop their skills to the optimum without the stress and anxiety of having to compete and ‘perform’.
Our team can build a sense of belonging and self worth through the companionship of fellow workers and the items that they create. They receive a monthly compensation as “salary” of which they are extremely proud even if it is small.
Our aim is to enable these individuals to reach their full potential. Our creative team creates different items which are of such an excellent quality that these items are sold at their own Teodora Crafty Centre as well as other public markets.
